EK BALAM is Mayan for Black Jaguar. It was the Black Jaguar who inspired this music! The concept of EK BALAM is made up of "9 Dark & Mysterious Soundscapes" in other words, NO melodies or rhythms! The object was, because these works were composed for a "sound festival" called SOUNDWALK 2016. I thought just how many sounds can I get from these Aztec and Mayan wind instruments and a sound processing device. SO, this is a meeting of Acoustic and Electronic. Again, the mood of this recording is heavy and deep, great for meditation or heavy introspection!!! SO, the best title for the mood is Black Jaguar.
